Nella cittadina omonima, di Kecksburg in Pennsylvania America, fu teatro il 9 dicembre 1965 di un presunto ufo crash, quello stesso giorno in Canada precisamente ad Ontario migliaia di persone videro nel cielo una sfera di fuoco, gli avvistamenti continuarono; in Michigan a Detroit, nella parte Nord dell’ Ohio IN Pennsylvania, fu udito un forte rumore simile ad uno schianto, si pensò quindi alla caduta di un meteorite. Erano le 4.45 di pomeriggio, e la caduta avvenne precisamente in un paesino sul Mt. Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County.

Successivamente, vari voci e testimonianze riportavano il ritrovamento nel bosco a 30 miglia di Pittsburgh dei resti di un presunto ufo, vi furono anche le testimonianze, di chi raccontò di aver visto la zona recintata, con il divieto d’accesso per i civili, e la presenza di molti soldati armati, probabilmente alcuni di loro si presentarono come ufficiali nelle case della zona minacciando le persone per indurle al silenzio. Molti testimoni diretti affermarono che a precipitare dal cielo non fosse un meteorite ma un grande oggetto metallico dalla forma simile a quella di una ghianda. Sul bordo dell’ oggetto metallico vi erano simboli di tipo geroglifico, l ‘ oggetto venne portato via dai militari a bordo di un camion.
Recentemente la Nasa ha reso noto che verranno resi disponibili informazioni sul caso Kecksburg. L’ agenzia spaziale riaprirà il caso, e ha segnalato la scomparsa di due scatole contenente documenti dell’ epoca. La notizia è ufficiale proviene da Steve Mc Connell portavoce Nasa. Il caso è stato probabilmente riaperto grazie alla giornalista Leslie Kean che non accettando la versione ufficiale che parlava di un’ esperimento militare si è appellata alla legge sulla trasparenze , e pretendendo dalla Nasa la pubblicazione dei documenti, sul caso, disponibili in archivio.
Centinaia di persone secondo la giornalista vennero messe a tacere con le minaccie perché davano la loro testimonianza non conforme con le dichiarazioni ufficiali. Secondo un’ ufologo, Stan Gordon i testimoni tutt’oggi raccontano di quanto accadde allora. Oggi nella cittadina di Kecksburg si svolge nel mese di settembre la festa denominata "Old-fashioned Days and UFO festival", quest’ anno Stan Gordon, ed altri interessati hanno distribuito materiali informativi e tenuto relazioni, alle numerose persone partecipanti. Oggi molti testimoni, iniziano a farsi avanti, sanno di avere informazioni utili a riguardo e le varie testimonianze servono a chiarire gli avvenimenti riguardanti il presunto ufo crash.
Anche al al Westmoreland County Community College si è tenuto un convegno ufologico, qui l’ investigatore Michel Rambacher dell'Ohio ha raccontanto ai presenti la sua diretta testimonianza in merito all’ ufo di Kecksburg. Raccontando di essere all’ epoca nella sicurezza. E di essere arrivato alla base nel 1966, praticamente un anno dopo il presunto ufo crash. Sentì parlare di un oggetto portato nel campo su di un camion, proveniente dalla Pennsylvania, non era consentito l’ accesso poiché l’ oggetto era materia di studi. Quindì capì di trovarsi di fronte proprio l’ oggetto di Kecksburg. Personalmente non vide l’ oggetto ma dei compagni di stanza, poterono osservarlo, e gli dissero che aveva la forma di una ghianda alta tre metri per due di diametro con un cerchio nella parte inferiore, l’ oggetto appariva senza giunture . Una guardia di sicurezza gli raccontò di aver visto dei simboli sul bordo, linee ondulate e cerchi e geroglifici. Michel Rambacher lasciò la base nel 1967, e si dichiara certo che il manufatto non sia di origine terrestre.
Kecksburg 'UFO' continues to draw interest
After nearly 45 years, the interest has not waned but actually increased as more and more people are wondering what landed from the sky into a wooden area in Kecksburg on Dec. 9, 1965.Known as the "Kecksburg UFO Incident," at approximately 4:45 p.m. Dec. 9 a fiery object was spotted over parts of Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania and was reported to have crashed in a wooded area in Kecksburg, a small village in Mt. Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County.
Written off by officials as a large meteor, many eyewitnesses claimed that what fell was instead an acorn-shaped metallic object that bore a series of symbols resembling hieroglyphics on its rim.Witnesses stated that the object was removed by military personnel who covered it and transported it from the area on a flat-bed truck.
"Witnesses are still coming forward today to tell me about the incident," said Stan Gordon, Kecksburg incident and UFO expert. "I just recently had numerous people speak to me about the incident."Kecksburg celebrated the anniversary at its annual "Old-fashioned Days and UFO festival" in September, featuring Gordon and other speakers who did presentations and offered informational materials.
"The crowds were huge this year in Kecksburg," Gordon said. "They are talking about finding a larger location for next year."Gordon said many witnesses come forward after long periods of time because they feel he may already be aware of any information that they may be able to provide."People just think that I already know what it is they saw and that they didn't have to say anything," Gordon said. "But the more witnesses, the better. Their stories help, and all of the information collaborates with what we have."
A UFO expo was held recently at Westmoreland County Community College near Youngwood, too. In addition to paranormal activity information and Bigfoot displays there, Gordon and others were on hand to discuss the Kecksburg incident with visitors. Paranormal investigator, consultant and speaker Michael Rambacher of Ohio spoke to the expo visitors about his experience with the Kecksburg UFO.Rambacher was with the Air Force security unit at Wright Patterson Air Force base where the Kecksburg object was reportedly transported when taken from the area.
"I was in security and we were instructed about it," Rambacher said, adding that he arrived at the base in 1966, one year after the incident. "They talked about the item that was brought there on a flat-bed truck and was said to be from Pennsylvania. At that time, there was no access to it, and we were told that it was being studied. "We put two and two together and figured it was the Kecksburg object," he said. Although Rambacher himself never saw the object, his roommate and others in his bunk reportedly saw it and described its shape and markings."My roommate said that it was acorn-shaped and about 3 feet high and 2 feet in diameter," Rambacher said. "He said that it had a rim about the bottom and what he noticed was that there wasn't a seam or any signs that the rim was added. It appeared to be one solid piece."
The Air Force security guard, who Rambacher could not name, reported seeing markings on the rim of the object."He said that it had lines and circles and squiggly-looking markings on it," Rambacher said.Rambacher left the base the following year. He never saw the object but is certain of its existence and that it is not of this world.
"I think that it's there," Rambacher said. "They move it from building to building for security reasons because of what it is and where it came from, but it's there, and I also think that all the Roswell material is there, too."According to reports, the "Roswell UFO Incident" was the alleged recovery of extra-terrestrial debris, including alien corpses, from an object that crashed near Roswell, N.M., in June or July 1947.
Since the late 1970s, the incident has been the subject of intense controversy and conspiracy theories as to the true nature of the object that crashed. The U.S. military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program titled "Mogul." However, many UFO proponents maintain it was a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a coverup. The incident has turned into a widely known pop-culture phenomenon, making the name Roswell synonymous with UFOs. It ranks as one of the most publicized and controversial alleged UFO incidents.

WASHINGTON - È uno dei misteri che appassiona maggiormente gli ufologi di tutto il mondo e a oltre 40 anni conserva intatto il suo fascino. In questi giorni la Nasa ha annunciato che effettuerà una nuova ricerca e renderà disponibili informazioni relative al presunto incidente di un Ufo avvenuto nel 1965 a Kecksburg, in Pennsylvania.
CORPO LUMINOSO - Secondo le testimonianze dell'epoca, la sera del 9 dicembre 1965 gli abitanti della città americana videro nei cieli un grande corpo luminoso di colore blu che probabilmente precipitò in un bosco della zona provocando un fragoroso rumore. Dopo l'impatto, essi affermarono di aver visto numerosi soldati armati, che recintarono meticolosamente il territorio, proibendo il transito ai civili. Inoltre altri testimoni rivelarono che nei giorni successivi alcuni ufficiali visitarono le case nei dintorni e minacciarono i residenti di tenere la bocca chiusa sulla vicenda.
METEORITE O SATELLITE RUSSO - Il governo americano ha sempre sottolineato che quella sera non accadde niente di strano. All'indomani gli esperti e la stampa locale parlarono della caduta di un meteorite o di un satellite russo. Tuttavia il governo confermò a più riprese che nella boscaglia non era stato trovato niente. In questi giorni, però, Steve McConnell, portavoce della Nasa, ha sostenuto che due scatole di documenti relative all'incidente di Kecksburg sono scomparse e ha annunciato che l'Agenzia spaziale americana riaprirà il caso cercando di fare luce definitivamente sul mistero.
NUOVA RICERCA - Chi non ha mai creduto alla versione del governo, è la giornalista Leslie Kean che quattro anni fa ha fatto causa alla Nasa appellandosi alle legge sulla trasparenza e ha chiesto a più riprese la pubblicazione dei documenti presenti nei suoi archivi sull'incidente di Kecksburg: «Per tanti anni una miriade di persone in Pennsylvania sono state avvertite dal loro governo che quello che avevano visto era una menzogna o un'allucinazione», dice la giornalista al britannico Observer. Il giudice del tribunale di Washington Emmett Sullivan non ha accettato la giustificazione della Nasa secondo cui le carte dell'incidente erano irrimediabilmente scomparse e vuole che entro la fine dell'anno siano riportati alla luce i documenti relativi all'incidente degli anni Sessanta. «Quella sera qualcosa è accaduto», sottolinea la Kean. «La Nasa fino a oggi ha fatto ostruzionismo e adesso ha l'obbligo di portare alla luce la verità che 40 anni fa tenne nascosta. È una vittoria per quei cittadini che a suo tempo non si fecero intimidire». Stan Gordon, un investigatore privato che vive nella zona dell'incidente e che sostiene senza mezze misure la teoria extraterrestre taglia corto: «Sono certo che il governo sa molto di più di quello che ha detto in pubblico».
